Welcome to Child Guidance I and II, also known as CDL! My name is Sherry Sullivan and I am the instructor for this program. This class is for Juniors and Seniors only, providing you have taken Child Development and Parenting prior to this course.
So, let me tell you a little about myself. I am originally from New Jersey, and moved out here in 1998 to attend New Mexico State University. I graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors in Family and Consumer Science, choosing the Child Option.
As for my experience, I have a lot of experience working with children of various ages. From 1992 to 1998, I worked at Donna Reid's Child Development Center in Mahwah, New Jersey. This was a daycare/preschool for children ages infant to 6 years old. I was an assistant teacher and then promoted to lead teacher of one of the 3 year old classes. While, in a college, I worked at Jardin de los Ninos for a year. This school was for children of homeless familes in Las Cruces, NM. We served children ages infant to 5 years old. During my last year in college,I worked at White Sands Missile Range Child Development Center until I graduated. This program was for children of military familes, infant to age 5. Right before graduation, I was hired by the El Paso Independent School District as a Pre-Employment Lab Education Instructor. This is where you come in
